Dirty South TV, an online music television channel dedicated to airing music videos at least 20 hours per day, 365 days per year, hopes to change the music industry by focusing on music and southern talent like Pearson Perry, an Atlanta based singer/songwriter, who will be featured on Dirty South TV, on September 8, 2008.
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) September 2, 2008 — Dirty South TV, an online music television channel dedicated to airing music videos at least 20 hours per day, 365 days per year, hopes to change the music industry by focusing on music and featuring artists like Atlanta based singer/songwriter Pearson Perry.
Dirty South TV is the brain child of founder Giuseppe Colato who got sick of seeing reality TV show after reality TV show and commercials on the music television networks. “I wanted to create a real music television channel because I think people deserve to have music in their lives. We’ve got enough reality,” says Colato.
One thing that separates Dirty South TV from other music television channels is that previously undiscovered Artists will be the main feature. In addition, Artists will be broadcasted live from either the Miami or the Atlanta Dirty South Television Studios. The Dirty South TV website will be the first Broadcast Format with Cable Television, Satellite Television, Satellite Radio, F.M. Radio and A.M. Radio respectively soon following. Colato knows Dirty South TV will change the industry by focusing on music and homegrown talent.
Pearson Perry, an Atlanta singer/songwriter, has the kind of story not normally seen on major music television networks. She graduated from the University of Georgia 10 years ago and says, “Leaving Athens meant leaving music. I felt pressure to be successful, to be important and fronting a band didn’t really seem to fit the bill.”
However, one marriage, two kids, and ten years of climbing the ladder was enough for Perry to question what success meant. “I have done a lot of things that have made a lot of people proud of me. The problem is that I wasn’t proud of me. I lost me. Music has been about finding my way back,” says Perry. Perry is currently ranked on the MySpace music charts at #29 for folk-rock artists in Georgia.
If Colato gets his way, artists like Perry, with stories wide and varied will become the norm in music television programming. Perry will be featured on Monday, September 8, 2008 at 7 PM as part of the #1 weekly Music TV Show in the world for independent music-”Live Sessions from the Dirty South.” For more information about Dirty South TV visit www.dirtysouthtv.tv.
About Pearson Perry:
Pearson Perry grew up in the South, learning that the Bible, sweet tea and charm were the secrets to success and long-term happiness. She writes songs on her little blue guitar about the many people she has known and those she fantasizes about meeting. Some are sweet while others are vulgar, but they all share the urge to break free from obligation and expectation. Each one knows that there is something bigger than his/her current state of existence.
